A fast paced thriller from Elephant Gun Films and Fyzz Facility, Alleycats is a story of murder and blackmail set against the underground world of illegal bike racing on the streets of London. When bike courier Chris stumbles upon the illicit affairs of a corrupt politician (John
Hannah), his first instinct is to run. But he and his friends are soon drawn back into a world of power and corruption that puts them all in danger.
The story for Alleycats first appeared seven years ago in the first draft of a script by director Ian Bonhote and writer Max Kinnings. The script narrowly missed out on winning funding from Film London, so Alleycats was supported by a successful Kickstarter campaign and finally came into being.
The film's cast includes Eleanor Tomlinson (Jack the Giant Slayer, Poldark), Sam Keeley (In The Heart of the Sea, Burnt), Josh Whitehouse (Northern Soul), John Hannah (The Mummy, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D), Sonoya Mizuno (Ex Machina) and Rizzle Kicks' Jordan Stephens, among others.
The editing, online and grading for the film were performed at Onsight's post production facility in Covent Garden. The original edit was completed in Avid, while online and finishing made use of Mistika in Onsight’s Barco DCI projection theatre. The film was finished by senior colourist Max Horton (Gravity, Shaun the Sheep) helping director Ian Bonhote and producer Andy Ryder achieve the final look and feel of this gritty and exciting film.
Alleycats opened the East End Film Festival in June and is available on digital download, Blu-Ray and DVD now.
