12th September, 2012
Our rental facilities have been busy with a number of post production jobs for major sporting competitions in the UK.
Live event specialists Done & Dusted produced coverage of the highly anticipated Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games, directed by Danny Boyle. The ONSIGHT team provided Final Cut Pro systems using Avid Unity in lead up to 27 July and offered installation and technical support for the various requirements that followed. ONSIGHT was equally thrilled to supply a similar set up for the same client during the 2012 Paralympic Games, which has now come to a spectacular end.
Earlier this year, our Edit Rental division also had a presence at the unveiling of Team GB’s kit. Taking place in March at the Tower of London, ONSIGHT supplied Final Cut Pro systems for brand and communications company, The 10 Group. The equipment was used for the launch and further edited packages for broadcast. The event showcased the clothing we have come to know well, as designed by Stella McCartney and modelled on the day by a group of key British athletes such as heptathlete Jessica Ennis and swimmer Ellie Simmonds.
Back in West London, ONSIGHT facilitated the 2012 Wimbledon Championships for a consecutive year. Collaborating with leading outside broadcast company, NEP Visions, ONSIGHT assisted with a non-linear infrastructure, supplying a series of Avid systems and daily reports. For the duration of the tennis, we offered engineering support around the clock to help ensure fast turnaround edits for US broadcaster ESPN who provided live coverage and highlights packages.
The sporting action does not stop there. Edit Rental is working on The Tour of Britain for Century TV. Although complex, it's our fifth consecutive year supporting this event which showcases the world's top cyclists, including Bradley Wiggins. The footage can be seen every night on ITV4 and the race concludes on Sunday 16 September.
